Filekiller能夠刪除指定檔案的同時, 在同一位置填上隨機數據, 空白資料或ASCII碼. 這做法有效令到復原程式不能根據數據的痕跡成功恢復檔案. 除此之外, Filekiller可以設置Delete Iterations, 令程式在同一位置重覆多次的刪除動作, 務求令到數據不留痕
