Google上月突然宣佈收購Motorola Mobility, 其他Android廠商也即時有所反應. Google也很快的表示對Android的開放政策沒有任何影響，平定各廠的不安. 美國網站Silicon Alley Insider報道，指Google的內部文件表示Motorola及Verizon等合作伙伴將有優權接觸最新的Android版本，這令到其他廠商在銷售新產品時將會處於不利的狀態. 雖然Google未有正式回應，但各廠商相信已經開始尋找其真實性。
