Microsoft即將發佈Windows 8 Beta, 常用Windows Media Center的用戶關心會不繼續保留，Windows 部門的Steven 在Windows 8的博誌表示，Windows 8將會保留Windows Media Center. 消息指Windows Media Center在Windows 7的用戶使用量十分低，過去的7月僅有低於10%的用戶使用WMC, Windows 8的Media Center會不有新功能，留意Microsoft的公佈。
