Intel Thunderbolt新傳輸技術伴隨著Apple MacBook Pro 新系列發表，新Thunderbolt技術下，各裝置的傳輸速度再一次創新高。LaCie及Promise等外置儲存裝置廠商已表態支持Thunderbolt。現時數碼攝影廠商Canon佳能也表態支持Thunderbolt技術，目前數碼相機的效能提高及支援全高清攝錄，Thunderbolt技術能夠大幅縮短數碼相片及影片由相機傳至電腦的時間。
